I’ll be the first to admit—I’m not the fastest or most consistent reader. I don’t always have a routine, and I rarely keep up with trends. Some books I finish in a day, while others take weeks—and that’s okay. I prefer stories that resonate with me anyway.
It’s not about what everyone else is reading; it’s about the journey that each story takes us on and the connections we make along the way. If you’re the kind of reader who picks stories based on how they make you feel rather than how popular they are, I think we’ll get along just fine.
We read to know we are not alone.
William Nicholson
Shadowlands
There’s something truly special about a good book. The way it burrows under your skin, quietly seeps into your heart, and leaves you feeling a little changed. That’s what I hope to gather here in Chapters & Margins—not just titles, authors and stars, but stories that linger.
I won’t claim to be a hardcore reader. Some days, I devour an entire book before sunset; other times, it takes me a month (or more) to finish just a single chapter. There’s no method here, just a genuine love for words that are meaningful and insightful.
When I look at my room, I see a girl who loves books.

Looking for Alaska
My shelves are a bit of a jumble. I lean toward psychological thrillers that mess with my head, romance intertwined with drama, and stories that span across centuries (historical fiction). I also enjoy non-fiction—whether it’s history, psychology, or faith-filled reflections—anything that stirs the questions I carry within me.
Even though I will share lists and roundups from time to time, you won’t find many “must-reads of the year” here that you often see on other sites. I don’t read to chase the hype. I read to feel something and feed my curiosity. I remember books not for their five-star reviews but for the lines, characters, and scenes that linger with me long after the last page was turned.
Some books are so familiar that reading them is like being home again.
Louisa May Alcott
Little Women
For me, it’s never about keeping up with a list; it’s about the moments when a story feels like it’s speaking directly to me.
I appreciate both popular titles and well-known authors as much as I do the underrated ones. I’m not against them. Like anyone else, I sometimes pick these books out of curiosity, especially with their buzz on social media. However, I have my unique approach to rating these books that reflects my personal perspective.
A good book is an event in my life.
Stendhal
The Red and the Black
I often find myself not finishing (DNF) books. No matter how many enthusiastic recommendations I receive, if a narrative fails to capture my interest, I won’t finish it. Because for me, a deep connection to the characters and an engaging plot are essential for an enjoyable reading experience.
The world is too full of good books to waste time on bad ones.
However, every book has its audience and value, and they still have their place here on my blog. I encourage you to explore these titles for yourselves. After all, reading is an inherently subjective experience; what may not work for one person might be impactful for another.
That’s the beauty of stories—they meet us in different ways, at different times, and for different reasons. This little corner is where I gather the ones that have crossed my path, lingered in my mind, or surprised me when I least expected them.
Welcome to my little book nook
Pull up a seat. Browse for a while. You may find a story or two here that keeps you up at night, makes you weep, or simply reminds you why words matter.
